Welcome to Citizens’ Village Library

Citizen’s Village Library (CVL) is a community-based organization, with a global footprint, registered in 2007 with a mission to “inform, build and support women and girls, – not as mere-targets; but part of the action-force – to raise their voices and control power responses about their needs and rights”.
We focus on four rights themes: information, sexual health, democratic and food/economic rights. We believe right to information, sexual health rights, exclusion and poverty all have a female face – they need an intervention.

Core Values and Principles

1. We are sorry: We feel very bad about the degrading situations that women and girls find themselves in. In this way, we are inspired to offer voluntary services in the spirit of unselfish concern for the welfare of fellow women.
